PROCERA CROWN
Throughout the years most crown (caps) and bridge work was fabricated by creating an underlying metal substructure and then baking porcelain in a specified shade onto the metal surface. While this still proves to be a highly successful form of treatment there is a new option available that does not have the underlying metal in the crown. Procera crowns have a ceramic substructure, and the porcelain is then baked onto this surface. Elimination of the underlying metal allows for a more translucent end product. This type of crown is especially nice for front teeth, where the most natural look is desired.
LAMINATES
Laminates are most easily described as a "fingernail" of porcelain that is bonded onto the tooth surface. If you have a chipped tooth or your teeth have a lot of spaces in between them laminates could be a treatment of choice. The teeth need to be prepared slightly in preparation for a laminate and then it is fabricated in the dental laboratory to custom match the adjacent teeth. This type of treatment is highly successful and creates that "perfect" smile that most patients are looking for. |

Here laminates are used on the upper teeth to create a beautiful smile. Prior to laminate placement there were many spaces between the teeth, which was a chief complaint of the patient.
